Gallup Poll: CBD Oil is More Popular than Ever
As an economic boost along with some other benefits, cannabidiol (CBD) usage has expanded far beyond any previous health trend. Throughout the country, certain people are consuming the CBD oil for a variety of reasons. Given the far less drastic side effects of the cannabinoid compared to their pharmaceutical counterparts, it’s not surprising in the slightest that a Gallup poll conducted this past July has detailed that citizens throughout the age demographics are beginning to use CBD.
Specifically, the Gallup survey’s results showed that approximately one in seven people across all regions of America interviewed currently use a CBD product of some sort, effectively adding up to about 14 percent of the country using the plant for a number of reasons. Of the demographics, those aged 18-29 obviously used CBD products the most frequently and prevalently at roughly 20 percent, followed by those aged 30-49 at 16 percent. Certainly there are plenty of frustrations out there to make people want to find an alternative.
And contrary to popular belief, senior citizens, particularly those 65 years of age and older, are using CBD products at an increasing rate. In terms of geographical regions, the usage of CBD is surprisingly evenly spread even in states one doesn’t automatically associate with anything cannabis-related.
“Regionally,” Gallup reports on their write-up of the survey, “21% of those in the Western U.S. use CBD products, compared with 13% in the South, and 11% in both the East and Midwest. Marijuana use is legal in many Western states, and CBD products have therefore been available for a longer time to residents of those states.”
While many people's reasons for consuming CBD products is to help allevieate discomforts, in all fairness, it should be understood that the medical community has yet to provide supporting scientific evidence that CBD can help any of these conditions.
The Gallup poll portrays the growing popularity of the non-psychoactive cannabinoid. The ailments mentioned weren’t oriented in one particular area of the body and instead were widespread and vastly different. To quell all of the ailments mentioned would result in a laundry list of pharmaceuticals, each with their own potentially dangerous side effects. Yet, scores of people separated only by geography and age are trying out hemp oil that’s luckily become far less stigmatized than its more controversial cousin.
