We live in stressful times. The rich, middle class, and poor alike are all carrying the stress and emotion of their day-to-day lives in their bodies. For some it’s the stress of being the CEO of a Fortune 500 company and for others it’s the stress of making ends meet. Women are pushing themselves harder in the boardroom and in areas of fitness, while men are battling depression and anxiety more often.
The 24 hour news cycle blended with social media fills the air with negativity and reminders that if you’re not working you’re falling behind the next young entrepreneur, or your fitness standards aren’t up to par with the hottest social media influencers.
How do we cope with the swirling firestorm of data telling us we need to do more to be more. For many the answer is alcohol, and has been for many years. Overtime the answer turned into prescription drug and opioids. For others who recognize the damage both the alcohol bottle and the pill bottle can cause, they are turning to something different.
